Overview
Get trained to support mental wellness.
-
Bridges to Care San Antonio is a free training initiative that empowers everyday people to become mental health champions for themselves and their communities. Through easy-to-follow sessions led by peer facilitators, participants learn practical ways to notice when someone is struggling, offer supportive responses, and connect them to professional resources before a crisis happens.
-
Participants gain the skills to recognize early signs of emotional distress, respond in a caring and effective way, and guide people toward appropriate resources. The training also helps reduce stigma by making mental health a normal part of community conversations and equipping individuals to strengthen resilience across their networks.
-
Mental health challenges touch every family, school, and community. By taking part in Bridges to Care, you help create a culture where people are supported before crises develop and where no one feels they have to struggle alone. Acting early means caring betterโand together, we can build stronger, more resilient communities.
Programs We Provide
Each Bridges to Care program is designed to meet the needs of a specific group, ensuring that everyoneโwhether teens, adults, or community leadersโhas the right tools to support mental wellness.
-
This program helps congregations, nonprofits, and community caregivers integrate mental wellness into their daily work. Participants learn how to recognize when someone may be struggling, respond with empathy, connect them to professional support, and create environments where mental health is openly valued and discussed.
-
Aimed at middle and high school students, this program equips teens to look out for one another. It teaches young people how to recognize warning signs in their peers, start safe and supportive conversations, encourage friends to seek help when needed, and foster a culture where talking about mental health is accepted and encouraged.
-
Designed for teachers, mentors, parents, and coaches, this program gives adults the tools to understand and respond to the unique challenges teens face. Participants learn how to identify stress and anxiety in young people, communicate in ways that build trust, connect teens with appropriate resources, and create safe spaces where youth feel supported.
