NAMI Basics


NAMI Basics is taught by trained teachers who are either a  parent or  caregiver who have lived similar experiences with their own children. NAMI Basics provides learning and practical insights for families. Each class session is 2 ½ hours and classes are held  weekly. All instruction materials are FREE to participants.

NAMI Basics is a free, six session course for parents and  primary caregivers of children and adolescents living with mental  illness.  Call our office today and we will get you signed-up for the next class!

Goals of NAMI Basics:

  1. To give the parent/caregiver the basic information   necessary to take the best care possible of their child, their family, and   themself.
  2. To help the parent/caregiver cope with the impact   that mental illness has on the child living with the illness and the entire   family.
  3. To provide tools for the parent/caregiver to use   even after completing the program that will assist in making the best decisions   possible for the care of the child.

January 4th to February 8th – Windcrest area.

February 21th to March 28th – NE 410 area.

March 11th to April 15th – Seguin area.

March 23rd to April 27th – Bandera Road area.

May 2nd to June 6th – Medical Center area.

June 1st to July 6th – Bandera Road area.

September 12th to October 17th – N. Alamo area.

September 30th-November 4th – Seguin area.

October 5th – November 9th – Bandera Road area.

October 14th – November 18th – Medical Center area.
