First Ever NAMI Nite Was a Success!
This holiday season NAMI San Antonio is thankful to our friends at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church for their generous donation! Due to their support we were able to launch a trial NAMI Nite as a new and creative way to provide a non-traditional support session for our San Antonio peer community. Our first NAMI Nite was hosted by MacArthur Park Church of Christ on Thursday, October 24, 2019. We had 20 participants that enjoyed an evening of musical therapy through “drumming” and using other small instruments, like castanets and tambourines, led by Jorge Ochoa from Tambo Rhythms (http://www.tamborhythms.com/). Participants were primary from our NAMI Resident Housing locations.
Look out for our next creative NAMI Nite in the New Year!
